It can involve physical, sexual, verbal or psychological abuse.

Misuse of power can also be a form of domestic violence, like control over money, friends and outings.
It’s never too early or too late.
If you are a victim of violence in an emergency situation, get in touch with us! If you have been a victim of abuse and feel ready to start your healing process, we are here to lend a helping hand.

Safe Shelters
Habitat Interlude is a shelter in Kapuskasing and the Omushkegiskwew House is a shelter in Moosonee. These safe shelters welcome all women and their children, regardless of where they live. Women who are 16 years of age or older and their dependents have access to confidential, safe and free accommodations where food, bedding and personal care items are provided. The first step involves managing the crisis and ensuring safety. Women are then equipped with wellness resources for a brighter tomorrow.
